Examination Policies and Regulations of (DPT) Study Plan (381)

Part (I): General Definitions:

·Success: The student is considered successful in the course if he obtains 60% or more of the total score of the course and the estimate is calculated according to By-law regulation of Qassim University.

·Failure: The student is considered to be failed in the course if he obtained a score of less than 60% of the total score of the course or if he was absent from the final exam without an acceptable excuse.

·Phase (I)   : (Basic Physical therapy sciences): It is the first and second academic year of the DPT program that begins after the student passes the (Premed-I) preparation year.

·Phase (II): Clinical Phase: It includes the last three academic years of DPT program and includes the specialized and clinical courses in the field of physical therapy.

·Reset Exam: It is an exam for students who have failed in some courses in the first and second semesters of each academic year, and it will be conducted two weeks before the beginning of the new academic year according to By-law regulations of Qassim University and College of Medical Rehabilitation.

·Courses that do not have basic pre-requests to be studied: These courses are determined according to the study plan (381) and approved by the department and college councils, and the student can register these courses without adhering to the subsequent year in which the student is registered, in a manner that does not conflict with the By-Law regulations of Qassim University and College of Medical Rehabilitation.

·Semester's courses: It is a course that is studied during a whole semester and the final exam is conducted at the end of that semester.

·Extended course: It is a course that is studied during the entire academic year, provided that it is not less than 30 weeks. It does not include the registration period and final exams, and the periodic exams are conducted during the first and second semesters, and the final exam is conducted the end of the academic year, as determined by the approved study plan.

·Theoretical course: It is a course that does not have a laboratory or practical exams.

·Theoretical / practical course: It is a course that has both theoretical and practical exams.

·Clinical Course: It is a course that is taught in hospitals (Bed side teaching) and has no theoretical exams.

·Note: The following policies and regulations were designed according to the policies and regulations of Qassim University.

Part (III): Promotion of students from year to year.

A.Phase (I): Basic Physical therapy sciences

1.Following successful pass in all courses of the year, all next year courses are registered without selection, deletion or addition.

2.The student is considered to be failed in the course if he obtained a score of less than 60% of the total score of the course or if he was absent from the final exam without an acceptable excuse.

3.The student, who fails in courses not exceeding 35% of the total credit hours of the academic year, is allowed to apply to Resit exam and the College Council has the authority to allow the student who fails in courses not exceeding 50% or less of the total credit hours of the academic year to apply to resit exams.

4.The weight of assessment and distribution of marks of Resit Exams, are as the following:

a.Theoretical Courses: Resit written exam: 100% of the marks.

b.Theoretical / practical courses: Resit written exam (80%), Practical exam (20%).

5.The student who is denied from the final exam of certain course (due to the percentage of attendance), is not allowed to apply to resit exam of this course.

6.If the student passes the exit exam, the grade in all conditions will be fixed as "D2".

7.The student has to pass all courses of the academic year to register to the next year.

8.The student who fails in resit exam of one course or more, and the student who fails in one course or more and not allowed to apply to resit exam, are not allowed to pass from one year to the next year and the college council has the authority to allow the student to register certain courses (that do not have basic pre-requests to be studied), taking into consideration that the total credit to be registered not exceed 24 credit hours.

9.The student is not allowed to pass to Phase (II) "clinical phase" of DPT program if his GPA is less than 3/5 or/and if he not pass all courses of Phase (I) of the program, and the student in these cases is allowed to join another program in College of Medical Rehabilitation after approval of the Department and college councils.

B. Phase (II): Clinical Phase

1.The student is not allowed to register in Phase (II) of the program unless he has succeeded in all courses of Phase (I), according to the study Plan (381).

2.Following successful pass in all courses of the year, all next year courses are registered without selection, deletion or addition.

3.The student is considered to be failed in the course if he obtained a score of less than 60% of the total score of the course or if he was absent from the final exam without an acceptable excuse.

4.The student, who fails in one or two courses, is allowed to apply to Resit exam and the College Council has the authority to allow the student who fails in courses not exceeding 25% or less of the total credit hours of the subsequent year to apply to reset exams.

5.The weight of assessment and distribution of marks of Reset Exams, are as the following:

c.  Theoretical Courses: Reset written exam: 100% of the marks.

d. Theoretical / practical courses: Reset written exam (80%), Practical exam (20%).

6.The student is not allowed to apply to reset exam in clinical courses.

7.The student who is denied from the final exam of certain course (due to the percentage of attendance) is not allowed to apply to reset exam of this course.

8.The student, who fails in reset exam of one or two courses, and the student who fails in one course or two courses and not allowed to apply to reset exam, are allowed to pass from one year to the next year (in Phase II) with avoiding contradiction (overlap) in timing with the courses of the subsequent year.

9. The student who fails in reset exam of three course or more, and the student who fails in three courses or more and not allowed to apply to reset exam, are not allowed to pass from one year to the next year and the college council has the authority to allow the student to register certain courses (that do not have basic pre-requests to be studied), taking into consideration that the total credit to be registered not exceed 24 credit hours.

10. If the student passes the exit exam, the grade in all conditions will be fixed as "D2".

11.The student is not allowed to register in the Internship training year unless he has succeeded all the courses of the DPT program.

12.  To pass Internship training year, the student has to fulfill all the requirements according the Study plan (381).

Important notes:

1.All the previous policies and regulation have been designed according to the policies and regulation of Qassim University.

2.All the previous policies and regulation have been discussed and approved from the college council no. (7) For academic year 2016-2017. (19/2/2017).

ملحوظة :

تم صياغة اللائحة التالية طبقا للوائح والنظم المعمول بها في جامعة القصيم طبقاً للائحة الدراسة والاختبارات للمرحلة الجامعية .

Phase II
قواعد النجاح والرسوب  والانتقال من سنة الى السنة التالية بالمرحلة الثانية: (المادة السادسة والقاعدة التنفيذية لجامعة القصيم)

• لا يلتحق الطالب بسنوات المرحلة الثانية الا إذا كان ناجحا بمقررات المرحلة الأولى كلها حسب الخطة الدراسية المعتمدة.

• الطلاب الناجحون بمقررات السنة الدراسية يتم التحاقهم بالسنة الدراسية التالية ويتم تسجيل جميع مقررات السنة الدراسية دون اختيار او حذف او إضافة.

• يعتبر الطالب راسبا في أي مقرر يقل مجموع درجاته عن 60% من اجمالي الدرجات للمقرر.

• يسمح للطالب الراسب بمقرر او اثنين خلال العام الدراسي بدخول اختبار الدور الثاني ( Resit exam) ولمجلس الكلية الحق بالسماح للطلاب بدخول اختبارات الدور الثاني بما لايزيد25% من مما يدرسه الطالب .
• تحتسب درجات اختبارات الدور الثاني كالاتي:
         أولا: المقرر النظري: الاختبار التحريري 100% من درجات المقرر. 
         ثانيا: المقرر النظري/ العملي 80% للاختبار التحريري و20% للاختبارات العلمية والشفوية.
  
  

• لا يسمح للطالب بدخول اختبارات الدور الثاني في مقررات الممارسة الاكلينيكية.

• لا يسمح للطالب بدخول اختبارات الدور الثاني في مقررات المحروم من دخول الاختبار النهائي بها لعدم استيفائه نسبة الحضور (طبقا للوائح المعمول بها في جامعة القصيم).

• يجوز للطالب الراسب بدخول في مقرر او اثنين من مقررات الدور الثاني او من المقررات التي ليس لها دور ثاني الانتقال للعام الدراسي التالي بما لا يتعارض مع مقررات الرسوب.

• يبقى الطالب الراسب في أكثر من مقررين في نفس السنة الدراسية ويعيد المقررات التي رسب فيها ولمجلس الكلية الحق في ان يسمح للطالب بدراسة مقررات من السنوات التالية ليس لها متطلبات حسب الخطة الدراسية بما لا يزيد اجمالي عدد الساعات التي يسمح للطالب بتسجيلها خلال العام بأكمله عن 24 ساعة معتمدة.

• يرصد لمن ينجح في الدور الثاني تقدير مقبول  (د2) بدلا من النتيجة السابقة (هـ).

• لا يسمح للطالب في الالتحاق بالسنة التدريبية (الامتياز) الا في حالة نجاحه في جميع مقررات الخطة الدراسية.

• لاجتياز السنة التدريبية (الامتياز) على الطالب استيفاء جميع المتطلبات حسب اللائحة المنظمة للسنة التدريبية (الامتياز).
